Seven time Austin Music Award winner, Warren Hood started playing classical violin at age 11 in the school orchestra.  He won classical music competitions, including the Pearl Amster Youth Concerto Competition and the Austin Youth Award. Warren later balanced studying at Austin High with touring with Charlie Robison and the South Austin Jug Band. His musical influences include Uncle Walt's Band (Walter Hyatt, David Ball, and Warren's dad, Champ Hood), Ray Charles, BachSt├ęphane Grappelli, and others. After high school, Warren earned a rare scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he majored in Violin Performance, played with Steven Tyler and formed an acoustic string band, Blue Light Special. At Berklee, Warren earned the coveted String Achievement Award, an award chosen by faculty to honor talent and as a vote of confidence on future success.  Leaving Berklee, Warren returned to Austin and was in demand as a sideman and joined The Waybacks, a band he would play with for the next ten years.  Warren now splits his time between his own band and playing and recording alongside other artists such as David Ball, The Bodeans, Hayes Carll, Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, Ben Kweller, Little Feat, Lyle Lovett, Joan Osborne, Toni Price, Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, Bob Schneider, South Austin Jug Band, Redd Volkaert, Jerry Jeff Walker, Bob Weir, and others.   Warren has released two albums.

Originally from Spartanburg, SC, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Marshall Hood is Warren's cousin.  Marshall formed The DesChamps Band in March 2002 to honor Champ Hood after his passing.  They regularly performed songs from the Uncle Walt's Band and released 2 CDs.  Marshall eventually moved to Austin where he began accompanying Toni Price on guitar.  Marshall was a founding member of the Belleville Outfit until they disbanded in 2011.  They released 2 critically acclaimed  CDs.  After the Belleville Outfit disbanded, Marshall turned his focus to his solo work, releasing an self-titled EP, and forming Marshall Hood and the Bads.
