Jay Aymar is a Canadian singer-songwriter born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He performs over 120 shows per year at clubs, theatres, and festivals primarily throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe. He is known for his story telling through music and his songs cover themes central to everyday life -- love, spirituality and the human condition. His songs are influenced by classic literary themes and hint of Leonard Cohen with a whispered echo of Woody Guthrie, and a pinch of Stephen Leacock and Mark Twain. In 2010, he was nominated as a Canadian Folk Music Awards Emerging Artist. In 2008, Ian Tyson recorded Jay’s song “My Cherry Coloured Rose.” Jay released his first studio album in 1996 and has since released four more studio albums and one live album accompanied by a book of road stories.
