Singer/songwriter Jay Aymar is known for his rich lyrical content and engaging live performances. His songs cover themes central to everyday life, love, spirituality and the human condition and he cites the influence of the touring lifestyle as his primary source of inspiration. Jay's work has elicited comparisons to Johnny Cash, Steve Goodman, and John Prine and his song “My Cherry Coloured Rose” was covered by Ian Tyson for his album From Yellowhead to Yellowstone and other Love Stories. Jay performs over 120 shows per year at clubs, theaters, and festivals. He has released 5 studio albums and one live album accompanied by a book of short stories. His album Halfway Home garnered a 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Best Emerging Artist. Jay is currently recording a new album.
